Table lamp

Have you a good reading light and a small table by your easy chair or couch? Nothing is nicer, but your table lamp must be tall enough to throw light on surface of book. Twenty eight to thirty inches is about right. The table is best when it is the height of the arm of chair or sofa, but this is not imperative. To save your eyes again, it is wise to equip the lamp with a diffusing bowl which prevents glare and with a two light bulb –adjustable for reading and for conversation.

Desk lamp

Lamps in this day and age are designed to suit given need, and may be as decorative as they are scientific. In this modern setting the lamp is high enough to give a good light on the desk, and the shade with its wide top opening will throw light to the ceiling. The outside of the shade may be any color –deep or light –but the inside should be white. The bulb should be about twenty three inches from the top of the desk, and proper height is important.
